Shoalhaven River Levee Rehabilitation Project

Notification of Works – Shoalhaven River Levee Rehabilitation Project – Terara and Comerong Island

Council has engaged NSW Soil Conservation Services to undertake repairs to the Shoalhaven River Flood Levees at Terara and Comerong Island adjacent to the Shoalhaven River.

The levee rehabilitation works are scheduled to commence on Monday, 9 April 2018 and will run through to September 2018. During the levee repair process, there will be some minor inconveniences to road users from trucks transporting rock and fill to be used to repair the levees. This will involve truck movements between Nowra, Terara and Comerong Island and in particular the use of the Comerong Island Ferry by trucks.

Council will be placing signage on the roads and near the ferry alerting road users to the impending works and use of the Terara Rd and Comerong Island Rd by trucks. Council apologises for any inconveniences caused by the flood levee repair works.

Any further inquiries related to this matter can be made directly to Alasdair Stratton, Natural Resources and Floodplain Manager P – 44293300 or E – Alasdair.Stratton@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au
