Council’s reconciliation journey is one step closer with its inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) now out for public exhibition.

The draft RAP sets out our actions and commitments to strengthen relationships, demonstrate respect and provide opportunities for Council to work more collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

The RAP Framework

Reconciliation Australia’s RAP Framework provides organisations with a structured approach to advance reconciliation. There are four different types of RAP that an organisation can develop, and Council is beginning its RAP journey at the introductory Reflect level.

The Reflect level covers a 12-18 month period that prepares the organisation for future RAPs and reconciliation initiatives.

How can you get involved?

You’re invited to review the draft and provide your feedback by completing the online survey by 11:59 pm, 2 December 2024. You can view the Draft RAP here.

Everyone in the community will have the opportunity to participate as the project progresses and we encourage you to subscribe via the 'Stay Informed' function on this page.

Alternatively, should you have any questions on the draft RAP, or would like to provide feedback via email, please contact the Community Connections team – council@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au, or call Council on 1300 293 111.

Your input will help Council to support our community’s priorities for reconciliation.
