Join the celebrations of the Queen's Baton Relay as it visits Nowra on Monday, 5 February 2018.

In the lead up to the Commonwealth Games, the Shoalhaven is excited to be hosting The Queen’s Baton Relay. The relay is a historic and exciting opportunity to host a stand out celebration that showcases our area and its diverse community.

This is a unique opportunity for your organisation to be part of The Queen’s Baton Relay when it visits Nowra on Monday, 5 February 2018 from 2.00pm – 8.00pm. Start with a free Pool Party at 2pm, then view the Queen's Baton Relay from 4.30 pm

The community is encouraged to get involved, come out and show your support. See you there.

  • Catch the spectacular entry of the baton via helicopter as it enters Nowra from the skies over the Shoalhaven River
  • Share the excitement of the crowds
  • Capture the emotion and jubilation of the batonbearers as they carry the baton with pride
  • Paint the colours of Nowra as it turns blue with the colours of the Commonwealth Games
  • Discover the circus and entertainment at the Entertainment Centre grounds
  • Focus on the Welcoming Ceremony from the traditional owners of the land at the Entertainment Centre
  • Embrace sporting clubs and the school children as they wave the flags 
  • Be creative and picture the fun at the free pool party.

How to enter: 

  • Submit your photo here or Email your jpg image or scanned pdf of artwork to media@shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au 
  • Images are to be submitted as hi res JPEG files with a minimum photo size of 1MB (1024 pixels on its shortest side) to a maximum of 5MB 
  • Include in your email: your name, title of photo/artwork, contact phone and location the photo was taken 
  • Deadline for submission of photos is Friday, 9 February 2018
