Stronger Country Communities Fund (NSW Government) has approved a grant to Shoalhaven Heads, with the Lions Club as sponsor, to construct a nature adventure park at Pepper Reserve.

This park will provide children, of all ages, the opportunity to feel, see and touch natural materials that stimulate their minds, while they explore and play outdoors,

A steering committee is currently researching concept designs to incorporate all of the wonderful ideas provided so far by the community. The steering committee will liaise with Council on the size and location of the nature adventure park.

This nature based play area will complement

This nature based play area will complement Shoalhaven Heads' existing culture that enables children, of all ages, to be active. The project will be carried out by contractors under Council supervision and support from the local community.

Community driven consultation has been ongoing with this project, including planning and design workshops. Shoalhaven City Council wishes to conduct their own consultation, to determine the overall support or opposition to this project.     Shoalhaven City Council are conducting community consultation to determine the level of support of the Nature Adventure Park. To participate in this consultation, please complete the survey, which is open until Sunday 16 August 2020.

    The community driven “Pepper Reserve Nature Park Group” will continue their work in the planning and design of this space. To view current proposals or to stay up to date on their progress, please email the group at pepperreservenaturepark@gmail.com or visit their social media pages.     An indicative site for the Nature Adventure Park has been identified by the community and can be viewed in the attached image.
