Council is considering a proposal submitted by a local not-for-profit organisation to use the northeastern corner of the Milton Showground for a community garden. The garden would provide opportunities for growing plants, hosting workshops, and engaging the community.

Council wants to ensure the community has an opportunity to provide feedback on the proposed use of the land before entering into a licence agreement.

Council has met with representatives of the local not-for-profit organisation to discuss the concept and potential benefits. Direct consultation has also taken place with relevant stakeholders and user groups to identify a suitable garden footprint.
