Milton Showground – Community Garden Proposal

Thank you to everyone who participated in the recent consultation. 230 survey responses were received along with five written submissions from local user groups and community members.

All feedback has now been reviewed, including previous feedback provided by existing Showground users. The survey results show strong community support, with 84% of respondents indicating support for the proposal.

With the community’s strong support in mind, it has been determined that Council will proceed with a licence agreement with the not‑for‑profit organisation to establish a community garden in the northeastern corner of the Milton Showground.

Council and the local not‑for‑profit organisation will continue working closely with existing Showground user groups to minimise any adverse impacts on current activities.

Council is inviting feedback on the proposed use of the northeastern corner of the Milton Showground for a community garden.

The proposal includes using the land for a community garden, workshops, community activities, plant propagation, and creating a family-friendly space. There is also potential for future fruit and vegetable sales.

The community is invited to provide feedback on the use of the land by completing the SURVEY before 31 January 2026.
