The transport sector contributes significantly to carbon pollution and greenhouse gas emissions across the Shoalhaven LGA, making up approximately 26% of community emissions. Unlike internal combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles (EVs) are significantly more efficient, create zero tailpipe emissions, can be charged at home and can be powered by 100% renewable electricity. The EV transition in NSW continues to gain momentum as battery prices fall, innovations scale, and market offerings increase.
Under the EV Charging Stations on Public Land Policy, Council has committed to support and encourage the increased uptake of EVs. Appropriately scoped, sited, installed, and managed EV charging stations support local businesses, increase tourism opportunities and help protect and enhance the environment.
As such, Council will support the electrification of transport by facilitating the installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure (EVCI) on public places, where it is appropriate, safe, and implemented in a sustainable manner. This infrastructure will be managed as a long-term community asset.
This project page hosts the past, present and future Council EV Charging Infrastructure projects throughout the Shoalhaven LGA and will be the central location for individual project details, feedback and updates.

The proposed electric vehicle (EV) chargers located at Burton St, Vincentia and the Ulladulla Civic Centre will be accessible to all EV drivers and will host Sinexcel SEC80 80kW DC Fast Chargers (servicing 4 EV charging bays).
Please provide your feedback on the proposed EV chargers by 10 April 2026
