Shoalhaven City Council has an ongoing commitment to making the Shoalhaven truly inclusive and welcoming for people with disabilities, their families, friends and carers.

Council’s commitment is embodied in the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2022-2026, with 43 actions to support continuous improvement of access and inclusion for people with disability to information, services and facilities. These actions extend through to 30 June 2026.

Staff are developing a project plan for Council to consult with community and develop a new DIAP, to come into effect 1 July 2026, with actions to be delivered by 30 June 2030.

Council will use a range of methods to engage with people living with a disability, local disability providers, families, friends and carers, to consider how Council can best contribute to improved accessibility and inclusivity in the Shoalhaven.

Community consultation is scheduled for October and November 2025. We invite you to subscribe to this page for project updates and/or to participate in our engagement activities.
