The Dog Fenced Off-Leash Area (FOLA) is Stage 6 of Boongaree (previously Berry District Park), in Berry.

The vision for the Boongaree Dog FOLA is to provide a safe enclosed dog agility area to complement the existing 24-hour dog off-leash area located in the north east part of Boongaree.

The Boongaree area provides a unique opportunity to reinvigorate the northern edge of Berry following the introduction of the bypass road. The vision for Boongaree is to provide unique recreation facilities that build on the existing successes of the area and facilitates future opportunities to improve and supplement broader community needs. Visit Council’s Boongaree Get Involved web page to find out more.

Community Engagement

Council gathered feedback from the local community to develop the concept and detail design for the Boongaree Dog FOLA. This feedback, along with feedback gathered as part of the Access Areas for Dogs Policy review on the design of FOLAs, will help inform the Boongaree Dog FOLA.

Council would like to thank everyone for their interest, and especially those who have provided feedback in relation to preliminary Concept Design for the Boongaree Dog FOLA so far.

The On-Site Workshop in February was attended by three Council staff, community members, children and dogs! Wet weather did not dampen the torrent of ideas and feedback on the draft preliminary Concept Design to inform the Draft Concept Design. The outputs of the Workshop can be viewed here, and in the Document Library on this web page.

Thirtyfive responses were received on the Community Survey, providing additional feedback for consideration.

The feedback collected as part of the Community Survey has been considered along with the outputs from the On-site Workshop by the Project Team. The outputs will help inform the Draft Concept Design which will be reviewed by Internal Staff prior to public exhibition. Opportunities will be available to provide feedback on the Draft Concept Design during public exhibition, anticipated to be in the coming weeks.

We look forward to ongoing collaboration with the community to ensure the success of the Boongaree Dog FOLA.
