Consultation has concluded

Shoalhaven City Council is currently developing an indoor sports stadium at Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry.

Works include the construction of a purpose-built indoor sports centre (the Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre) housing four (4) multi sports courts and grandstand seating, ancillary facilities such as change rooms, toilets, storerooms, canteen/café/kiosk, sports office areas, conference rooms, administration areas, staff areas, control room, multi-purpose rooms and drug testing areas, off-street parking and ancillary landscaping.

Council is proposing to build a level terrace for recreational use and is exhibiting the Review of Environmental Factors (REF) from 20 December 2018 to 21 January 2019. Community members are invited to the view the documents below and provide comment during the exhibition period.

    With Christmas approaching, it has been a busy year constructing the new Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre at Bomaderry. Clearly visible now, the community can see the front façade and gauge an appreciation of the building's size and structure. Currently at Lock-up stage and on the road to completion.

    Key stages of progress include;

    • External carparks and roadways are nearing completion, with vehicle and pedestrian entry ways currently under construction.
    • Landscapers are busy planting the gardens beds and laying pathways that extend around the perimeter of the buildings.
    • Inside the courts are looking great with wall linings being finished...

Clearly visible now, the community can see the front façade and gauge an appreciation of the building's size and structure. Currently at Lock-up stage and on the road to completion.

    Key stages of progress include;

    • External carparks and roadways are nearing completion, with vehicle and pedestrian entry ways currently under construction.
    • Landscapers are busy planting the gardens beds and laying pathways that extend around the perimeter of the buildings.
    • Inside the courts are looking great with wall linings being finished and painting well advanced.
    • Sports flooring is underway with materials on-site and concrete preparation in progress.
    • Tiling and carpeting is being laid in all changes rooms, amenities, mezzanine and café areas.
    • Kitchen joinery and toilet partitions have been delivered to site, soon to be installed, along with all sanitary fixtures, fittings and fixtures.
    • All services are in an advanced stage of progress, with the new electrical sub-station live, and power to the site established. All internal lighting is complete.
    • Water and sanitary drainage is compete with the rainwater harvesting system for rainwater re-use currently being commissioned.
