Shoalhaven Heads Tennis Courts

Consultation has concluded

Overview

Two of the four tennis courts located at the Shoalhaven Heads Tennis Court facility (Courts 3 & 4) currently pose a public safety risk, as their playing surfaces are uneven and cracked. The courts have been out of play since 2016.

At its Ordinary Meeting, held on 30 October 2018, Shoalhaven City Council resolved to decommission the two damaged tennis courts and consult with the community regarding future use. This survey has been created to obtain feedback on the future use of Courts 3 & 4.

There have been many suggestions for the future use of the two decommissioned courts. Some of these include; converting into two multi-purpose (i.e., tennis / basketball / netball and possibly mini soccer / futsal) courts; creating community gardens; removing fencing to become an open space area; upgrading tennis facilities and lots more. The ideas are endless!

Any ideas will need funding to build and maintain. It will also need volunteers to manage the infrastructure once it is built. Shoalhaven City Council currently has no allocated funding for improvements, changes or maintenance of Courts 3 & 4 at Shoalhaven Heads.
