Lower Shoalhaven River Drop-in Sessions

The Draft St Georges Basin Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan and Draft Lower Shoalhaven River Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan are currently on public exhibition.

As part of the exhibition process, Council conducted a series of five community outreach drop-in information sessions across the study areas. Sessions were held at St Georges Basin, Sussex Inlet, Greenwell Point, Nowra (Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre) and Shoalhaven Heads.

The sessions were well attended, with Council’s Floodplain Management team speaking with more than 150 community members.

Engineers from Rhelm, flood specialists from NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), and representatives from the NSW State Emergency Service (SES) were also in attendance to discuss the technical components of the studies and plans, the current public exhibition process, and the proposed flood mitigation measures.

Community members are encouraged to review the draft documents and provide feedback during the exhibition period.
