Nowra Precinct Renewal Strategy

Council, Homes NSW, and Southern Cross Housing are looking at better ways to realign the Government housing portfolio in the Shoalhaven.

The information collected will help guide any future potential redevelopment of housing (social, affordable and private), supporting infrastructure and public space within the area. There are no immediate plans to redevelop the existing housing in Nowra, however it is important that the community have the opportunity to provide feedback to inform future renewal.

The strategy will aim to better address the evolving needs of existing residents while increasing the number of social, affordable, and diverse dwellings.

    The community is now invited to provide input into the proposed renewal strategy of government owned housing in the Nowra Precinct.

    Council is working with Homes NSW and Southern Cross Housing to develop a strategy that will guide future planning and housing for the 47-hectare precinct.

    The strategy aims to better address the evolving needs of existing tenants while increasing the number of social, affordable and diverse dwellings.

    If you are interested in providing feedback, please complete the online survey by Friday 24 October 2025.

    Community workshops will also be held on Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th October 2025.
