Community Consultation Results – Lake Conjola Entrance Road - Shared User Path

Thank you for your input on the proposed Shared User Path on Lake Conjola Entrance Road.

The Get Involved page had 669 visits with 102 people completing the survey which is a fantastic outcome.

Results

Of the 102 survey participants 97% supported the idea of having a shared path between Conjola Park and Lake Conjola.

75% of participants would support a reduction of the Lake Conjola Entrance Road speed limit to allow the path to be closer to the road and reduce construction costs.

Almost half of participants indicated that they would like to see the path also extend through Lake Conjola to the Holiday Haven and/or to the boardwalk that runs to the beach.

Several participants also indicated that they would like to see the path extend to the Princes Highway, Fisherman’s Paradise, Hoylake Grove Reserve and Kurrajong Crescent.

Some participants would like to see a few rest areas and lookouts along the path with seating and potentially tables, shelters, bins, and interpretive signage.

Summary

The results show that there is strong community support for this project.

Next Steps

Council will engage a design consultant to progress the design to the next stage incorporating the comments received from the Get Involved survey, where appropriate. Council aims to have the final concept design and cost estimate completed by May 2025.
