Integrated Strategic Plan 2018/19

Consultation has concluded

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking feedback on the draft Integrated Strategic Plan 2018/19 which includes the Delivery Program and Operational Plan (DPOP), Budget, Fees, Charges and Services.

The Integrated Strategic Plan 2018/19 outlines the community’s aspirations and long-term vision for the City. It is prepared by Council in collaboration with and on behalf of residents, businesses, all levels of government and local agencies, to help build and maintain a vibrant and sustainable future for the local community.

About the Plan

Each year, as part of the planning for the future financial year, Council reviews the Integrated Strategic Planning documents (DPOP, Budget, Fees and Charges, Financial) and sets the budget for the new financial year. The Operational Plan Actions are reviewed as part of this process, to set out the proposed actions that will be undertaken over the 2018/19 financial year, in accordance with the proposed budget.

This review is now complete and is provided to the public for comment.

The Integrated Strategic Plan also provides information regarding how additional revenue from the Special Rate Variation (approved by IPART on 15 May 2018) will be invested in infrastructure, asset renewals and maintenance - see Chapter 3.

Structure of the Plan

In the past, two separate planning documents were created to meet the requirements of the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework - the Community Strategic Plan and the Delivery Program and Operational Plan.

A new approach was adopted last year to display clear alignment of how the Delivery Program and Operational Plan meets the objectives and priorities of the Community Strategic Plan. As a result, the final plan will be completely integrated and sit in one document.

For easier reading, the draft Integrated Strategic Plan has been broken down into the following parts:

CHAPTER 1: Our Priorities - Community Strategic Plan 2017-2027*** (PDF 1.2MB)

***Under the requirements of the Integrated Strategic Planning Framework, the Community Strategic Plan is set for a 10-year period. The development of Council's Community Strategic Plan 2017-2027 was undertaken through an extensive consultation process which occurred in 2016 and 2017. As such, Council is not seeking feedback on Chapter 1 of the draft Integrated Strategic Plan at this time. Community consultation will next occur in 2021.

CHAPTER 2: Delivery Program & Operational Plan (PDF 805kb)

CHAPTER 3: Operational Plan - Financials (PDF 1.4MB)

CHAPTER 4: Attachment A Schedule of Fees & Charges (PDF 2.1MB)

The change of format will allow community members to informally drop in between 6pm to 8pm and visit many stalls containing information on a wide variety of Council projects, plans and programs, including the Integrated Strategic Plan and Special Rate Variation.

The three Council Information Evenings will be held:

  • Tuesday, 29 May 2018, 6pm to 8pm - Nowra School of Arts, Berry Street Nowra
  • Thursday, 31 May 2018, 6pm to 8pm - Ulladulla Civic Centre, 818 Princes Highway, Ulladulla
  • Thursday, 7 June 2018, 6pm to 8pm - Vincentia Public Hall, Lot 13 Coles Car Park, The Wool Road Vincentia

Come along to this family-friendly evening full of information. There will be a kid’s corner, lucky door prizes and light refreshments. No RSVP required.
