Lower Shoalhaven River recommended flood mitigation measures - Have your say

Shoalhaven City Council is seeking to understand your level of support for the following flood mitigation measures for the Lower Shoalhaven River. Please refer to Appendix C of the Flood Plain Risk Management Study (FRMS) for additional information on each of the proposed measures.  

1.  

Information Transfer to the NSW SES (Option ID EM1): The flood data developed is to be transferred to the SES for incorporation into their flood intelligence database, assisting the SES in prioritising and scheduling actions as a flood event progresses through the catchment.

The Shoalhaven City Flood Emergency Sub-Plan (the Flood Plan), be updated to incorporate the learnings from this study relating to effects of flooding on the community and road closures.

Gerroa Road Drainage Study and Mitigation Design (Option ID EM12): A local flood investigation be undertaken to confirm the cause of road inundation of Gerroa Rd and determine suitable local management options to address local catchment flood risk.

Zealand Creek Drainage Investigation (Option ID EM13): A local catchment flood study undertaken that includes the existing piped stormwater networks that discharge from Shoalhaven Heads to the Zealand Creek and assess potential management option to improve the performance of the drain.
