A location is being sought for the Bay and Basin Boxing Club within Sanctuary Point. After careful consideration and site evaluations, Clifton Park has emerged as the preferred location for the Bay and Basin Boxing Club.
Here’s why:
1. Accessibility – Clifton Park provides a great walkable catchment for residents in Sanctuary Point, this provides access for a wide range of community members.
2. Activation – Clifton Park is used by a range of community members.
3. Safe and Secure – Clifton Park provides suitable passive surveillance. The proposed location ensures a safe and secure environment for all users.
The Bay and Basin Boxing Club’s vision is to create a welcoming and inclusive space for many uses, including promoting community engagement and safety.
Note: At the ordinary council meeting held on 12 August 2024, Council determined not to endorse Clifton Park as the preferred location for a facility to house the Bay & Basin Boxing Club (ref. CL24.224). As a result, all further work on this project has ceased.
