Removal of Swing Set at Northern End of Marriott Park

The Safe Shelter Shoalhaven has recently opened at 134 Kinghorne Street, Nowra, which backs on to Marriott Park. Following the opening of this facility, it was discovered that their rear fence was not located on the property boundary. Therefore, to have a new fence installed in the correct location, the swing set was required to be removed and landscaped to allow for this installation.
Following Council’s investigation into the usage of Marriott Park, we found that this swing set had an extremely low usage and was approaching the end of its usable lifespan.
Shoalhaven City Council anticipates that the Marriott Park Masterplan will be completed in 2019, which will include upgrades to the large children’s playground in the Southern end of the park, as well as improving accessibility, parking and amenities throughout the park.
Please note that the removal of this swing set does not impact the well-used playground at the Southern end of the park.
