Council Resolution - Changes to Qualifications and Standards - 45 Degree Rule Exemption - Chapter G4: Tree & Vegetation Management

At Council's Ordinary Meeting held on 22 January 2024, Amendment No. 54 to Shoalhaven Development Control Plan (DCP) 2014 was adopted.

The Amendment includes changing the qualification required under the 45 Degree Rule from AQF Level 3 arborist to a ‘suitably qualified and experienced arborist’ along with changes to the relevant standards for tree works.

The Amendment will come into effect on Wednesday, 14 February 2024.

The amended DCP chapter will be available on Council’s DCP website from 14 February 2024.

The exemption will be renamed to ‘The Gordon Timbs 45 Degree Rule,’ and it will include a reference to native tree species list that could be used for replanting (non-mandatory).
