Public exhibition of the Proposed Trial Changes in the 45 Degree Rule Exemption for tree removal in Shoalhaven Development Control Plan 2014 (DCP) closed on 31 March 2023. The policy was on exhibition for more than 54 days. We received 293 submissions and the total engagement via this page was 2,298.
The responses indicate that there is broad community support for the proposed changes - 43% of survey participants stated that they support the proposed changes with or without change. 14% stated they supported removal of the rule completely and 43% did not support the proposed changes to the 45 Degree Rule. This means that over 57% of respondents were supportive of change to the existing 45 Degree Rule. The broad range of views on the proposed changes to the 45 Degree Rule in the DCP have been noted and registered.
