Bay and Basin Community Hub Master Plan

Shoalhaven City Council in conjunction with key user groups and the community has developed a draft master plan for the Bay and Basin Community Hub.

Council is now inviting the wider community to review and provide feedback on the draft plan (11MB (pdf).

About the Plan

The vision is to expand the existing Bay and Basin Leisure Centre to become a multi-use, vibrant Community Hub, broadening the scope of the existing sporting, community and leisure-focused facilities.

In addition to expanding the built footprint of the Leisure Centre, the outdoor areas are proposed to be revamped to better utilise the site.

The envisioned project components include:

  • Community facilities providing community meeting places
  • Library services
  • Exhibition space
  • Extension of the existing gym
  • Skate park (outdoors)
  • Two netball courts (outdoors)
  • Improved access to the sportsground
  • Additional parking to cater for increased usage

To coordinate site planning and best utilisation of resources, a draft master plan has been prepared to ensure the Bay and Basin Community Hub can cater to a wide range of user groups and becomes a key recreational area in the Bay and Basin area.
